Hi! My name is Cathy. I'm from the mainland, China. I'm a recent Political Science graduate from the University of British Columbia and I have two-year part-time Mandarin teaching experience. I'm an easygoing person, and I am passionate about teaching. I can teach all-level Mandarin Chinese. Please do not hesitate to send me inquiries :)
I gained an average A standing in Chinese during my high school education in China.
In 2016, I attended a language exchange program called Tandem, in which I taught an English speaker to speak Chinese. I have 2.5 year experience teaching mandarin. In the previous experience, I have helped my student to get A+ in their university's mandarin course.
The approach varies since the different client has different needs. In a previous case, I use a Mandarin textbook as a start. Flashcards and language learning apps are often used for vocabulary memorizing. For each day, I will choose a situation, such as breakfast or shopping, and I'll teach conversation and phrases about the situation. Sometimes, I can play some Chinese Reality show or TV show clips to make the teaching more interesting.
I'm available everyday after 5pm, except monday and holidays
