Native German speaker with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in education and pedagogy with four years of tutoring experience
I am Valentin Krieger and 24 years old. I am originally from Germany. The last years I lived in Switzerland where I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in education and pedagogy. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in cognitive neuropsychology at the Université de Montréal.
I have already been tutoring school children for 4 years, teaching all subjects within elementary school and German in secondary school. In addition, through my studies I have already gained a lot of experience in how to design individualized lessons for children.
In addition to tutoring, I have already gained experience in working with children during an internship in a mother-child care home as well as another internship in a kindergarten. During the testing phase of my bachelor thesis, I also conducted exercises with elementary school children on their multitasking skills as well as their spatial imagination skills.
Likewise, through internships in a day clinic as well as a reintegration center, I have not only gained experience with children and adolescents, but also how to motivate adults in a pedagogical sense.
My learning approach pursues the goal of building intrinsic motivation, regardless of the learning method, so that what is learned can be recalled sustainably. If individual lessons are given, I adapt my learning methods to the needs of what is being learned. In group settings, I also try to adapt the lessons to the individual as far as possible.
The learning methodology I use is multimodal. This means that I try to stimulate as many senses of the body as possible during the learning process, which has been proven to optimize the learning outcome. Thus, depending on the situation, I use interactive methods with the learners at the linguistic-communicative as well as written level. I also try to actively involve the learners so that they can make their own suggestions as to how they think they can learn particularly well.
I am available on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. On Tuesday I have time in the afternoon/evening, on Wednesday in the morning/ evening, and on Thursday in the afternoon/evening.
I can adapt to the location and method of tutoring (e.g. online).
