Native English speaker with Master's degree in French, Doctor of Modern Languages (French/Spanish) degree, TEFL Master's certificate. I have taught French & Spanish full-time in the USA for 42 years and English part-time in Ecuador for 2 years. I can help adolescent and adult learners develop their confidence, fluency and accuracy in all four skills in addition to pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and cultural literacy.
I have the following degrees and certificates: 1) Bachelor of Science degree in French with minors in Linguistics and Spanish, 2) Master's degree in French language and literature, 3) Doctor of Modern Languages (French/Spanish) degree and 4) a TEFL Master's certificate with various sub-certificates for teaching grammar, Business English, young adults, etc.
I have taught French & Spanish full-time in the USA for 42 years on the high school and college/university levels and English part-time in Ecuador for 2 years to adolescents and adults.
My approach to teaching is "learner-centered." The needs analysis that the students complete let me know their goals, their strengths and their desired areas of concentration. I then interview each student live to gauge his/her level of confidence and proficiency in the language. These indicators, added to the student's stated aims, allow me to help suggest lessons and strategies and design a course that is tailored to the individual learner.
It is my aim to teach part-time, say 10 to 15 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday during the morning to early afternoon time slots.
I will make myself available on Zoom or Skype on my computer in my office. At the present time, I am in Tennessee (USA). In January of 2021, I expect to begin to teach online.
