Native German and English speaker who loves languages and equally loves to share them. Learning a language is always a discovery! I have a varied professional experience as lecturer, writer and editor. Personable in approach, versatile and curious - qualities that define my engagement with you. I have a real passion for learning languages myself (currently learning Spanish). I believe that, once you master a new language, a whole new world opens up and becomes accessible. As German tutor I have taught all levels from complete beginner to advanced, and tutored CEGEP-students, professionals seeking to prepare for their stay abroad, as well as complete beginners who were keen on receiving a solid foundation while respecting their individual pace and practice of learning. As French tutor, I helped students prepare for French language exams (TEF, TEFaQ).

Ten years of experience in post-secondary education as teacher and editor. I taught courses in philosophy, cultural studies and art theory; I currently also teach presentation and writing skills to MBA students. I lived and worked in several countries (France, Austria, Italy, UK, Canada), and it's always a pleasure to share that cultural experience with my clients.
Prefer a blend of direct method with a structural approach. I like to pay attention to precise elocution and letting the student formulate his or her ideas with as little intervention as possible. I systematically cover grammar and syntax, which is so specific to German. Depending on your needs, if you are currently engaged in a particular study program (e.g. if you are college or university student or take a language course), then I devise my program based on your study course to help you fill in certain gaps in knowledge and practice; if you are seeking to learn German, French or English independently (from scratch or want to improve your practice), then I devise a program in consultation with you and based your individual strengths. I prepare PowerPoint presentations for each class, which form the basis of our learning, with additional material drawn from the web. Alternatively, for long-term engagements, we can decide to work with a textbook as basis.
