I am both an ESL teacher and a passionate language learner. I was professionally trained in teaching English and proudly received my CELTA designation(Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) during the Pandemic. I am equally capable of teaching in person and online. I believe that language lessons need to be not only skill-focused but also taught in a way that's relevant to the student's needs. I also believe that language is an important tool to help you advance in life and widen your horizon, and the process of acquiring that tool can be an enjoyable one.
I am CELTA certified and I have a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from UBC with a minor in International Relations.
I am experienced in teaching online ESL classes by utilizing technology to engage students and optimize learning outcomes.
I also specialize in teaching business English as my full-time job is in a business setting with a Canadian Crown Corporation.
I prepare my lessons with real-life examples and materials(e.g. Instagram posts or real business reports) to match students' needs and help them achieve their life goals. I encourage students to apply learning in their daily life and come back with questions.
Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Weekend classes can also be scheduled based on availability.
Online via Zoom or a public space in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby or Richmond.
