Hello, my name is Samuel and I am an native English speaker. I have a Bachelors Degree and am currently working in a school setting providing specialized language instruction to children with Learning Differences.
I graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a minor in Philosophy. I have received my training from the Academy of Orton Gillingham Educators and Practitioners and OG Canada and I work primarily with children with Dyslexia.
I currently work as a specialized language therapist for the past 3 years in Canada. I have also developed and managed youth engagement programs in a community-based setting. I have a passion for teaching English and helping children develop healthy and productive ways of learning.
I use a multi-sensory, strength-based approach to reading and writing instruction.
For ESL instruction, I focus on a conversation-based approach using relevant, real-life examples to strengthen core concepts.
I am available Monday to Friday from 9:30 am until 7:30pm.
I generally hold my sessions in community centre libraries. I am open to discuss options if needed.
