Hi! My name is Shoko, and I'm a native Japanese speaker with over 3 years of tutoring experience in Canada. In my lessons, I use the GENKI textbook to help you build a strong foundation in Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and kanji. I also enjoy practicing conversational Japanese and sharing Japanese culture, including how and when native speakers naturally use certain words, expressions, and grammar in everyday situations. Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve your Japanese, I'd be happy to answer your questions and support you every step of the way. I have lived in Canada for 10 years and have been teaching Japanese for over 3 years. I have taught students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, as well as both youth and adults.
I like to keep my lessons fun, relaxed, and interactive, so you'll feel like you're learning with a Japanese friend rather than sitting in a formal class.
We can study grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, and kanji, or prepare for the JLPT (N5, N4, and N3).
