I am Teacher Maricel from Manila, Philippines. I have a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education major in English in University of Pangasinan. I am a teacher for eight years, four years as a Kindergarten and High school teacher, and four years as an online teacher. I have also an international certificate TESOL and TEYL. I handled different levels of learners in my teaching career. I want to impart my knowledge in teaching foreign learners and learn more about their culture. I am patient, flexible and energetic person .
I graduated at the University of Pangasinan (Phinma) in 2001 and took up Bachelors degree in Secondary Education major in English.
I taught kindergarten and high school for four years. I am also an online teacher for four years. As both an online and classroom teacher, I handled different levels of learners and know how to deal with my students properly according to their levels. I attended a webinar training to improve my teaching skills and applied it in my teaching. I taught kids, adults, professionals, advanced learner and high levels of learners.
In teaching my students, I use a different approach like using TPR which makes my lessons more fun and engaging in the form of games. In my teaching experience, I usually get the attention of my learners if they are kids. I will show them flashcards, realia and real objects to understand the vocabulary that they are learning. It is very vital to know the level of the learner to adjust the speaking pace and what strategies am I going to use in our lesson. When I am teaching advanced learners, I let them do the talking and share their opinions or ideas regarding the lessons and ask them to make sentences using the vocabulary and phrases that they have learned. At the end of our lesson, I will tell them the things that they need to do, how they were able to follow the directions and share their ideas about the lesson/topic.
