Learn Spanish the same way native speakers did!  We will use a lot of Comprehensible input  (Listen, listen, listen!!) and TPRS (Storytelling) !!

Education / Certificates

I've studied until college in Argentina, later I immigrated to Montreal, Canada where I started a Major in Marketing at Concordia University. Despite studying a bachelor in commerce, I took many literature courses such as Ancient Spanish literature, English literature and others. Furthermore, I have a passion for languages, thus currently I speak Portuguese, French and English fluently.

Professional Experience

Teaching Approach

I organize the classes relatively the same way for everybody, but I adjust the content depending on the student’s level.

My goal is to increase your amount of comprehensible input that is, when you listen the target language (Spanish in this case) and try to understand the meaning of the words by other means (that is drawings, pictures, nods, etc.). As a consequence, you will acquire the language the same way a baby will do. To achieve the mentioned goal, it is important to follow 3 main rules:

1.During the class we only speak in Spanish (at least 90% of the time). Remember that we understand the content through other means.

2. We don’t translate. If you translate the word: “Manzana =Apple”, it falls into your short-term memory and you will soon forget it. If you want to acquire Spanish, you do so by drawing an apple and/or writing beside “Manzana”. As a result, the word will go to your subconscious and you will remember it much longer.

3. We don’t learn grammar! Okay… we actually do, but we master it by applying it to a context. Instead of doing infinite “fill in the blank” exercises as most of language books do, we learn it by applying the grammar rules right the way. We will create fake scenarios and we will discuss using these rules. Remember that as a child, you didn’t learn much grammar until after you were able to speak (6 year old).
