TESOL qualified and hold IELTS teacher training certificate. Experience tutoring in-person and online. Flexible time/location option for lessons. Master's degree in psychological & psychiatric anthropology, giving me strong understanding of different cultures. Lessons developed to your individual language goals.
I completed the ACE TESOL certificate with distinction. Completed a IELTS teacher training workshop/certificate, providing detailed guidance on supporting learners preparing for language proficiency test (reading, writing, listening, speaking). I hold a UK advanced English language qualification. I hold a University College London (UCL) certificate in supporting people with reading and writing difficulties.
I have experience teaching online, face-to-face, and combining the two to meet user needs. I volunteer with an English language group, giving great experience preparing mix-skills lesson plans. I have a number of years experience working with people with learning disabilities as well as those wishing to improve their language skills generally, specifically for employment/academics, and for social reasons.
Prior to teaching I undertake an English language assessment to gauge the language level/skills of the learner. This also allows us (tutor/student) to determine language goals/needs. Lessons are individual, even with group classes. I work with the you to achieve your goals, but also guide you as to the most achievable targets. All lessons are real-life appropriate.
I am flexible and can adapt to the student's schedule. I accommodate a switch between in-person and online for local lessons. Discounts for pre-booked multiple lessons.
Online lessons via conference call. In-person lessons by arrangement. Options: local library or other appropriate place Groups: Would hire space at local library, attend the home of one of the group, or other mutually agreeable arrangement, including at my home office.
