Cuban-born university student teaches beginner and intermediate levels of Spanish from home
I am a secondary school graduate. I am currently in my first year of university at UOttawa pursuing my degree in Criminology.
I have been working in the kids' After School-Program program for years, where I help them with homework in all subjects. My contribution to their learning in English and French especially, is relevant to this position.
I use a student-centered approach, adapting each lesson to your goals, level, and learning style. My techniques include:
Communicative Practice: speaking and listening activities that mimic real-life situations.
Task-Based Learning: practical exercises like roleplays, short dialogues, and problem-solving in Spanish.
Grammar in Context: instead of memorizing rules, I integrate grammar into meaningful conversations and texts.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (5–10 mins) – Quick conversation or vocabulary review to get comfortable in Spanish.
