American FinTech Analyst Turned English Consultant available to tutor professional adults in Madrid
I have a Bachelor in Journalism and an Associate in Interior Design. I have a TEFL certificate from Oxford Seminars.
My most relevant education is in communicating with work associates around the globe to complete a common goal.
After a career as a software developer and analyst in US financial services, I became an English instructor. I have taught professional adults in Italy (Pirelli, Campari, Deutsche Bank, Zurich Insurance), in Poland in a private language school, and in Costa Rica for a government program.
What makes me different from other Business English instructors is that I have lived the life -- I've spend hours (days!) on conference calls; I've worked with technical associates in different timezones and who have different mother tongues; I've struggled to write correspondence and documentation that can be understood by all audiences.
I use the communicative method. I usually try to incorporate the interests of the student. Left to my own devices, we would use TED Talks a lot, lyricstraining.com, etc.
I also have studied with IELTS USA, and have developed a series of prep courses.
I am available all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.... My rate is negotiable....
I would prefer online - especially due to COVID - but I'm open to in-person near my home in Centro/ LaLatina.
