Native French speaker with a Bachelor’s degree in Law and currently completing a Bachelor of Education at Laurentian University. Passionate and dedicated educator with several years of experience teaching and tutoring French to students of all levels. Skilled at creating engaging, interactive lessons that help learners improve their speaking, reading, and writing skills. Known for patience, cultural awareness, and a motivating teaching style that builds confidence in students.
Bachelor of Education (In Progress) – Laurentian University, Greater Sudbury, ON (Expected completion: April 2027) Bachelor’s Degree in Law – Université du Burundi, Bujumbura (Completed 2008)
Additional professional training includes certifications in Project Management, Conflict Resolution, Human Rights and Gender, and Results-Based Evaluation (completed in Kenya, Switzerland, and Rwanda). These experiences have strengthened my communication, organization, and analytical skills—key assets for effective teaching and tutoring.
Over six years of experience as a French tutor and language instructor in both in-person and online settings.
French Tutor – Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (2019–Present): Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions to help students improve their reading, writing, and oral French skills.
French Language Teacher – ABCE Language School (2024–Present): Teach French as a second language to adults and professionals, adapting lessons to individual learning goals.
French Teacher – Lycée Buterere (2003–2011): Planned and delivered French language lessons to high school students, focusing on grammar, literature, and oral communication.
My approach combines personalized lesson plans, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to make language learning enjoyable and effective for each student.
My teaching approach is student-centered, flexible, and interactive. I adapt each lesson to the learner’s level, goals, and preferred learning style. I often use real-life examples, visual aids, short readings, and conversation practice to make lessons dynamic and relevant.
I believe that students learn best when they feel supported and confident, so I always create a positive and encouraging environment. Grammar and vocabulary are integrated naturally through communication and practical activities. I also use online resources and authentic materials (videos, articles, games) to strengthen listening and comprehension skills.
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, my goal is to help you communicate in French with confidence and enjoyment.
I am flexible and can easily adapt to students’ schedules. Generally available:
Weekdays: Monday to Friday, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EST)
Weekends: Saturday mornings, afternoons and early evening (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
I offer lessons online only, through platforms such as Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet.
This format allows students from anywhere to connect easily and learn in a flexible, comfortable environment. All learning materials and resources are provided digitally, and I adapt each session to the student’s goals and level.
