I have been a Chinese tutor for a university student who wants to practice oral Chinese and grammar. I have also been an English IELTS tutor for a schoolmate back when I was in China. With the efforts of both of us, the student achieved an ideal score.
Depends on the student's focused area of the study, teaching methods varies. But generally, my teaching approach involves a lot of speaking and interactive conversation. I try to let the students talk more to practice their oral mandarin and when the students talk more it's easier to find any mistakes to correct or any new knowledge they need to learn.
