Hi everyone, I’m Christy! I’m a native Chinese speaker from Beijing with a diverse professional background. I spent a significant part of my career in the Beijing TV and media industry, working in production and event organizing. This experience gives me a practical, "real-world" perspective on the Chinese language that I love sharing with my students. On a personal note, I am currently following my passions for art, music, and cinema. I believe that life is a continuous journey of learning. I would love to invite you to join me on this path where we don’t just learn a new language, but explore new worlds and perspectives together.
2005-2009, Beijing Normal University (BNU)
2020-2022, Canada College
2026-2027,Vancouver Film School
Originally from Beijing and now based in Montreal, I bring a unique blend of media experience and educational insight to my Chinese teaching. Before moving to Canada, I spent years in Beijing’s media industry as a producer, focusing on marketing and event planning. This background allows me to share authentic Chinese culture and professional communication styles with my students beyond just grammar.
With my further studies in Early Childhood Education from Canada College, I’ve also developed the skills to make language learning structured, patient, and engaging for learners of all levels.
I believe that learning a language is the ultimate key to unlocking new perspectives. As I continue my own journey of artistic exploration, I invite you to join me. Together, we won’t just study a language; we will explore new worlds and discover the profound beauty of cross-cultural connection.
Let’s start this exploration together!
My Approach: Simple, Practical, and Culture-Focused
I focus on helping you use Chinese in real-life situations. Since my background is in media and education, I prefer a more natural way of learning over memorizing textbooks:
Real Conversations: We’ll practice dialogues you can actually use, whether for daily life or professional settings.
Media & Culture: I love using short videos, news snippets, or movie clips to show you how Chinese is spoken by locals today.
Step-by-Step Guidance: With my background in Early Childhood Education, I am patient and will help you build your confidence at your own pace.
Personalized Topics: We can talk about art, music, cinema, or any topics that interest you, making each lesson a shared exploration.
My schedule is quite dynamic as I balance my teaching with various creative projects. Currently, my general availability is:
Weekdays: Mostly available in the mornings or late evenings (after 8 PM).
Saturdays: Available for morning sessions.
Sundays: Closed (or by special request).
Note: My schedule is flexible and can be adjusted to fit your time zone. Please send me a message before booking so we can find a time that works best for both of us!
Location: Montreal
In-Person: Happy to meet at public locations (libraries, cafes, etc.) for a more interactive experience.
Online: Available via your preferred platform for maximum flexibility.
Note: For in-person meetings, please message me to confirm the area and travel time.
