French native speaker and holder of a degree in translation and interpreting into French. I am passionate about languages and I passionately argue about the French language on a daily basis regarding grammar rules and spelling, really willing to share this knowledge and love with my students. I am now tutoring grade 4 to grade 9 students as well as adults, from beginner to advanced level. Beside that, I am a French tutor in two language schools based in Vancouver.
I'm very flexible and adapting to the students' wishes and levels.
Children mostly need school support, I firstly assess the level, making sure that the foundation is clearly assimilated.
I also like to mix theory and practice to keep kids' attention and make the teaching entertaining.
Adults mostly start from scratch, we start with grammar, vocabulary and pronounciation in order to build sentences quite quickly. Spelling and complex grammar comes next.
However, my classes are tailored to each of my students and that's what makes them all unique (the classes and the students)!
Flo has been wonderful helping with my teen and working with her to strengthen her foundations in French. Reviewing basics and bringing her confidence up has been so great. Flo’s easy manner and earnest love of teaching always shines through. I would recommend her to anyone searching for a French tutor.
We are only two sessions with Florence tutoring our daughter (for Grade 8 French) and are already seeing a difference in our daughters confidence and ability. She was really struggling with the subject but it really helps having one on one time with Florence and knowing that she is there to help her and her alone! Florence has been nothing but kind and patient. Would very much recommend her as a French tutor.
