Motivated and adaptable tutor with over a year of experience providing individualized math and English instruction to students aged 3 to 17, both in-person and online. Currently a fourth-year Sociology student at McMaster University, I am passionate about fostering confidence and a love of learning in students. I offer tutoring in a variety of subjects, including English (K–university), math (K–10), science (K–9), biology, chemistry, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and geography. My student-centered approach and strong communication skills ensure engaging, personalized instruction for every learner.
I am currently in my fourth year of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at McMaster University, with expected graduation in April 2025. I graduated from Castlebrooke Secondary School with honours, consistently achieving high 90s in all subjects and earning Honour Roll recognition in both 2016–2017 and 2020–2021. My academic background has provided a strong foundation in the social sciences, sciences, and mathematics.
I have over a year of experience as a teaching assistant and tutor at Kumon Math and Reading Centre, where I provided individualized instruction in math and English to students from kindergarten through high school, both in-person and virtually. I am skilled in adapting lessons for online platforms, using digital tools to create interactive and engaging learning experiences. My experience also includes regular communication with parents and students to monitor progress and address academic needs, as well as fostering student confidence and motivation.
My teaching approach is student-centered and adaptable to each learner’s unique needs. I use a combination of direct instruction, interactive activities, and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and relatable. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and actively participate in their learning. For online sessions, I incorporate digital tools such as interactive whiteboards and educational games to enhance understanding and retention. I regularly assess progress and adjust my teaching methods to ensure each student builds confidence and achieves their goals.
