Hi all, I lived and worked in Germany for 21 years and recently repatriated to Canada. I have taught German for a number of years and I translated (German-English) at a large company in Germany so I know how the language works. I can help you to learn just like I did, even though the Germans themselves say 'deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache' (German language, hard language). It can be learned. I am living proof of that!
I have a master's in biochemistry and I taught biology and chemistry (in English) in a German high school for 15 years.
Apart from my teaching at a high school I have taught German for about 6 years. My translating work really taught me how the language works, and I can share those insights with you.
I first of all listen to the participant(s) to hear what they want out of the learning session. Once I know their requirements and experience their language level I can select targeted exercises and activities to move them forward. My experience allows me to determine fairly quickly where the are lacking or what they find challenging. There is no substitute for experience.
Weekdays I am very flexible. Saturday mornings are also possible.
