I am a Chinese native speaker with a bachelor degree in Mandarin and Journalism. Got the Certificate of Pu Tong Hua Level A (National Mandarin Chinese test top level). Started tutoring foreign students from more than 10 years ago. Now teach adult and kid students (aged from 9 to 40+, from Canada, Iran, Korea, China...) in Toronto. Worked as a journalist and Chinese marketer for 10 years before in Beijing. Well-educated, open-minded and knowledgeable on Chinese topics.

I've been working with Wendy to practice casual conversation and improve my vocabulary in Mandarin. For our lessons she prepares diverse topics, with supporting materials, as well as creative games and activities to ensure our lesson time is always very productive, interesting and fun. She is careful to ensure we stay at the appropriate difficulty level, with exactly the right amount of new challenges presented each time. I'm very pleased to have found such a good teacher!
Wendy is truly an extraordinary Mandarin tutor. I've been learning with Wendy for quite some time now and my comprehension and conversational skills have definitely improved. She's very professional, always arrives on time. She's super dedicated, even going out of her way to ensure you get all the answers to your questions. She's very friendly, patient, attentive and she genuinely cares that you learn Mandarin by making the lessons fun, by making the words easier to remember by association. E.g., text message is duan3 xin4, which literally means short letter since text messages are short letters. She would often break down the pinyin syllables then point out the relevancy, meanings and associations. Her teaching techniques helped increase my vocabulary and comprehension. Trust me that Wendy is the best Mandarin tutor you'll ever find. I'm glad I found her.
Wendy is the tutor for my 2 kids aged 9 and 12. Growing up in Singapore, my children Chinese ability are different, yet Wendy is able to adjust her teaching to suit the children's individual needs. She has a bag tricks to make the learning interesting and the kids engaged. She is well rounded in teaching writing, reading, and speaking. Being from Beijing, her spoken Mandarin is without accent.
