I'm a dedicated educator and tutor with over five years of experience teaching and supporting learners across a wide age range, from kindergarten through grade 12, and I'm equally comfortable extending that support to adult learners. My core strength is adapting instruction to each individual's learning style, pace, and needs, whether I'm teaching foundational math, reading, and writing to a young child or helping an adult build a specific skill or close a knowledge gap. I'm known for building trust quickly, whether with a student, a parent, or an adult learner, and for creating lessons that are structured enough to keep progress on track, but engaging enough to keep people motivated. Ultimately, my goal with every learner, regardless of age, is the same: to help them build real confidence and move toward independence in their own learning

Professional Experience

I bring over five years of hands-on teaching and tutoring experience working with students from kindergarten through grade 12. Since 2023, I've worked as a Teaching Assistant with Saskatoon Public Schools, supporting students one-on-one and in small groups, adapting instruction to each student's level and learning needs, and providing dedicated support for students with medical and para-medical needs. Before that, I spent four years as an Early Education and Youth Teacher, where I taught foundational math, reading, and writing to Kindergarten and Grade 1 students through structured, age-appropriate lessons, while also supporting lead teachers with lesson planning and individualized instruction. Across both roles, I've focused on building trust with students and parents, tracking academic and social progress, and creating a safe, encouraging environment where students feel confident to learn and grow.

Teaching Approach

My teaching approach is built around adapting to each student rather than using a one size fits all method. Every student learns differently, so I start by getting to know how they process information best, whether that's through visual examples, hands on practice, or repetition, and I shape my lessons around that.

I also believe structure and warmth need to go together. I create lessons that are organized and predictable, so students know what to expect, but I keep the environment encouraging so they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. With younger learners, I focus on foundational skills through engaging, age appropriate activities. With older students, I focus more on closing specific gaps and building independence.

Teaching Place(s)

I'm available for both online tutoring (e.g., via Skype) and in-person meetings locally, so I can offer flexibility depending on what works best for each student or family. For in-person sessions, I'm comfortable meeting at the client's home or in public places such as libraries or community centers, as these settings tend to work well for building rapport while keeping things comfortable and convenient for everyone involved. I'm open to discussing the best format and location on a case-by-case basis to suit each learner's needs.
