English-French bilingual speaker with two master's degrees and 1 year of teaching experience.
I completed a bachelor's of foreign languages (Greek, Spanish, Italian), before obtaining a master's degree in Literary Translation, and a second master's in Modern Greek and Anthropology.
I have taught in a Greek school in Toronto, and I have tutored students (ages 3 to 18) for a year.
I encourage strong foundational work on basics, with emphasis on vocabulary and grammar, which can then be extended into colloquial expressions, slang, and other "everyday" aspects of language. I often explicitly focus on areas that cause confusion for new learners. I try to have learners speak for most of the class, so that they are able to speak as much as possible and to practice the new language we work on.
I am flexible and can easily adapt to my students' schedules.
I am available mostly for online tutoring, but also at the central library in Montreal.
